Local news in Canada is struggling to survive. But here at the Lookout, our small team is on a mission to expand our neighbourhood journalism across all of Ottawa. And it’s working.
Right now we’re in the middle of a critical crowdfunding campaign. The goal? Fund the expansion of neighbourhood news across Ottawa’s communities.
But unlike the other major publications, we’re mostly reader-funded. That means we can do neighbourhoods news without worrying about page views or ads.
We need 300 new members to join by Dec. 31, to fund this expansion and launch a new neighbourhood publication in one community, by hiring new reporters, building our website and funding our journalism.
Together, we can rebuild local neighbourhood news in Ottawa.
