In one of the latest efforts to increase advocacy and equal investment opportunity in rural Ottawa, city council is working to assess whether the Better Homes Ottawa program can be adjusted to support rural infrastructure and rural housing needs.

The Better Homes Ottawa program provides financing to homeowners to allow them to make upgrades to their homes, with particular focus on making homes more energy-efficient and climate-friendly. This can include upgraded attic insulation, LED lightbulbs, or installing smart thermostats and energy-efficient windows.
