Insider: Ottawa gets more federal money than it asked for

More than a week after it was announced there was a deal, we have details on the housing funding coming from the federal government.

Good day,

I ended up writing a fairly long intro to yesterday’s newsletter about how, in some small way, the Lookout is hoping to fill in the gaps of local news coverage of our city as larger companies continue to hack and slash at their newsrooms.

But I wanted to say a special thanks to all of you subscribers — you are what allows us to keep this newsletter going. It’s because of your subscriptions that we’re still chugging along. I know it might seem like I thank you readers a lot here, but I really mean it. So, thank you.

In any case, we have a lot to get to today. The big day is finally here, the feds and the city announced they’ve reached a deal for Ottawa’s slice of the housing accelerator fund pie.

Let’s get to it.
